Our Story
Every good story has a beginning… ours is love; for each other, for food, for wine and for hospitality.
THROWBACK TO 2012
It All Started With A Little Yellow Van
Only a short year after meeting, in a Toronto Oyster House of all places, Mike and Kat relocated to Mike’s hometown of Niagara Falls without a map but a goal in mind. They began shucking oysters and grilling seafood under just about any event tent they could find. With a one of a kind “Shuck Truck” named Pearl, a 1974 Volkswagen van, the couple quickly became widely known and even anticipated at wineries, concerts, farmers markets and festivals of all sorts.
2012 seemed to be a bookmark year for Niagara with an influx of new wineries, breweries, distilleries and new events creating a perfect launch pad for Mike and Kat’s unique product, skill and approach. Welcomed by the culinary community, they were quickly embedded into the collaborative and supportive food scene that only Niagara can boast. Tide & Vine became synonymous with Niagara culinary excellence alongside some of the region’s most reputable culinary outfits.

Came from Toronto on NYE Day to grab a quick lunch. Found Tide & Vine just looking through Google and have very glad I found this place! The food was absolutely fantastic, the steak tartar was unbelievable! And have to say the servers behind the bar, what was there names again??? Oh yes Angela squared 😛 Both Angela's were amazing and very friendly! Would recommend to anyone coming by that wants great company, amazing food and a perfect place to get some work done. Thank you again, would 100% come back if I am in the area!
Some people in my party had been here before, so they suggested this for a great meal and I was not disappointed. I had the Arctic chard which was served perfectly, I totally cleaned out my plate, including the skin, which was to me delicacy.. Others had oyster combinations, and there were some question as to what is meant by fried oysters, and the person who was being served them was a little confused as they came out different than he normally gets them. After some conversation with the person working on the table, there was a clarification, but they were still very tasty. We were too full for dessert. There were also some T-shirts and table condiments for sale and my party bought some for both souvenirs and also something tasty to use at home. This would definitely be a go to place when I come back to Niagara Falls.
Great happy hour items. Food quality and price are excellent. Their home make sauces are great. Service is excellent.
Wanted to give a shout out to Daryl and the entire staff over at the fish market! Truly great service and fantastic fish! They go above and beyond to help me with my order each and every week. I couldn't imagine purchasing my fish anywhere else. It's hard to find great fresh fish in the Niagara region so this place is quite a gem. Thank you!
Amazingly delicious fish and chips. I ordered this online for pick up. The young gentleman with dark brown hair and moustache who packed up my order was very friendly and ensured that I had all of the condiments I wanted for my order (malt vinegar, utensils). The fish was one of the best I have ever had. Breading was crisp but did not overwhelm— the fish filet was moist, flakey, and THICK! I’ve not seen this before at other restaurants, so this was a pleasant surprise. The chips were well seasoned and very crispy, which I liked. The tartar sauce is unlike the run-of-the-mill ones you get from most places— I wanted to go back and order more! It went well with both the fish and chips. The coleslaw that came with the order was equally amazing. The people who run this place are evidently passionate about good quality seafood. The Fish Market area also had samples of oyster crackers, candied salmon chunks, and other seafood dips and goodies for you to try. They also had a great selection of condiments from around the world, including Japanese wasabi oil and tuna in soy sauce in fancy little tins, as well as tools for cracking lobster shells and crab.
New favourite seafood restaurant. I’ll be bringing anyone visiting from out of town here. We had The Walrus + 12 oysters, and the lobster roll. Everything was incredibly fresh, tasty and beautifully plated. Our server was awesome. I can’t remember his name, but he was a young guy with dark hair. Wonderful service. He was really on the ball. We will be back very, very soon.
